Concussion Therapy

A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury that can occur after a significant impact to the head or neck that causes the brain to quickly shake back and forth within the cranium resulting in symptoms ranging from mild to severe dizziness, brain fog, headaches and fatigue.

Early therapeutic intervention following a concussion has been proven to reduce the risk and intensity of cervicogenic (originating from the neck) headaches and post-concussion symptoms. Using a wide range of massage techniques including general Swedish techniques, gentle fascial work and cranio-sacral therapy, your therapist will create a treatment plan based on your specific assessment findings and injury.

Massage therapy can also be effective in treating post-concussion symptoms, which can appear weeks or months after the initial accident, such as persistent neck pain, headaches, jaw pain and anxiety. We can also recommend effective home-care to help you recover more quickly from your accident and get you back to your regular day to day activities.
